This guide gets you from sign-in to a complete first simulation run.

1. Sign in

  1. Open the app root.
  2. Click Get started.
  3. Complete authentication.
  4. You should land on Dashboard.

2. Create a project

  1. In Dashboard, click New project.
  2. The app opens a project workspace route of the form /{userSlug}/{projectId}.
  3. Confirm the left sidebar shows your project title and workspace controls.

3. Set project location

  1. In the sidebar, open Project Location.
  2. Click Set Project Location.
  3. Place a valid location/boundary in the map flow.
  4. Confirm the project area is now set.

Notes:

  • You cannot finalize simulation actions without a project location.
  • If simulation results already exist, location is locked until reset.

4. Configure base inputs

  1. In Cell Grid, set cell resolution and grid side length.
  2. In Weather & Layers, either:
    • manually edit wind/temperature/humidity values, or
    • run weather lookup by city/address/US ZIP.

5. Add ignitions

  1. In Ignition Parameters, add at least one ignition.
  2. Use point or line ignition based on your scenario.
  3. Verify each ignition is inside the project boundary.

6. Optional fuel breaks

  1. Open Fuel Breaks.
  2. Add line segments for suppression/fuel break effects.
  3. Confirm they are positioned as intended.

7. Set run duration and start simulation

  1. Open Run Configuration.
  2. Choose simulation timesteps.
  3. Click Start Simulation.

If preconditions are missing (for example, no ignitions), run is blocked.

8. Review results

  1. Wait for run completion.
  2. Inspect map overlays and replay controls.
  3. Use terrain layers and stats panels to interpret output.

9. Iterate safely

  • Adjust weather, ignitions, or fuel breaks and rerun.
  • Rename projects as needed from sidebar/dashboard.
  • Use reset only when you intentionally want a clean slate.
